During the tournament you will be able to win including a ball autographed by the NBA star Marcin Gortat, and a T-shirt signed by the Polish basketball legend and Member of Parliament Maciej Zieliński, along with signatures by players of Śląsk Wrocław.
Wrocław International School (WIS) and the Foundation of International Education would like to invite you to the International Basketball Tournament “Wolves Basketball Cancer Shootout” in Orbita hall on 16th March 2013 between 08:30 AM and 07:00 PM. Admission to the event is free. The idea of a charity tournament for international schools came from the young people of the WIS Wolves basketball team, the young “wolves” at the Wrocław International School run by the Foundation of International Education. The young people want to help their peers – patients at the Children’s Hospice in Wrocław, the only such facility in Lower Silesia. The WIS Wolves have invited their colleagues from other international schools in Kraków, Wrocław and Warsaw to cooperate. Each player has encouraged making donations to the hospice and popularized the idea of supporting the institution.
At the end of the tournament, the collected donations will be formally handed over to representatives of the hospice. The cheque will be presented by Maciej Zieliński – the honorary patron of the tournament. During the games prizes will be drawn: a ball signed by Marcin Gortat, a gift from the Marcin Gortat Foundation – the event’s partner.
Another prize to win is Maciej Zielinski’s T-shirt signed by him and by the players of Śląsk Wrocław. Attendees will be able to support the hospice during the tournament by giving donations, all of which will go to the Children’s Hospice in Wrocław.
