Riding a bike is a great way for spending your free time. It is worth remembering that recreation, though active, should also be safe. The City of Wrocław Police mark the bikes on the Market Square, in order to prevent their theft.
It is easier to find a stolen bike if it is marked. When, after a theft, it gets to auctions or any other place of sale, you can check the label and, through the Police, find out whether the bike was stolen or not. Bikes can be marked free of charge on the Market Square, right next to Solny Square. On July 31 (Thursday) between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., the police will be waiting for all who are willing to mark their bikes.
Bikes can be marked free of charge, however, the vehicle should be properly equipped. Therefore, you should remember about the appropriate front and rear reflectors, efficient brakes, and a functioning bell. After arriving at the place and before marking the bike, all you have to do is to fill the form with your personal data and some basic information concerning the bike.
Every bike will receive a special mark with a special identification number, which will be entered into the police database. The owner will also be given a document confirming the marking.
On August 1, during the Police Day, you will have an occasion to mark your bike near the Centennial Hall. We start at 14:00.
