The shelter at the Contemporary Museum! One week holiday in the midst of works of art

Template _4xA4Contemporary Museum staff encourage children to take shelter in a former bunker in the last week of holiday! The theme of all the meetings will be “shelter”, i.e. a place that once protected people, and now holds works of art.

Children aged 7-12 are invited to participate in one week of activities. This age group will successfully handle activities that will include spatial design, design, various means of expression, children’s creativity and the building of MWW itself.

The organizers have announced that at Wroclaw Contemporary Museum it will be possible to take shelter from the sun and the city, but not from great fun and great ideas! One week of activities will be held at the end of the holiday. It will take place from August 24-28, from Monday to Friday (between 8 am and 5 pm). An additional attraction will be a family picnic, scheduled for Saturday, which will start at 11 am.

The main theme of this year’s cycle refers to the building of MWW, or shelter. This huge edifice looks mysterious and magical at the same time. With the holiday workshops children will have the opportunity to learn more about the shelter, get to know its function and role. They will also learn that now it is only a temporary part of the museum, so it is even more worth exploring the place and engaging in dialogue with what is hidden inside.

Children will be invited to a series of games, exercises and manual tasks which will make them more able to receive visual and auditory stimuli. Classes will also be an inspiration for independent research in the field of image and sound, creative interpretation of art and using it in their own work. In addition, they will get to know self-service installation in the Museum and will visit the current exhibition at MWW.

The classes are payable. Five days in the shelter along with catering costs 400 zloty. More information can be received by calling the following number: 71 356 42 67 or by email: edukacja@muzeumwspolczesne.pl. If you are tired with heat, crowded beach and tourists in the mountains, and the city is too noisy, shelter in MWW! Enrollment continues until August 17.
