From September 23, as part of the theater program of the European Capital of Culture 2016, children will have the opportunity to experience a fairy-tale world, presented to them by theater groups from around the world. The festival will last until September 27, so for 6 days Impart will show 14 performances and will organize a day of outdoor theater.
The festival has taken place in Wroclaw since 2013 and is aimed at younger audience. During this event, the young viewers come in contact with international theater of the highest artistic standard.
This year, during the third International Festival of Theater for Children, there are such theater groups as De Stilte (Netherlands), Pocket Oxford Theatre (United Kingdom), Konstellasjonen (Norway), Koweński State Puppet Theater (Lithuania), Henry Ryla’s Harlequin Puppet Theater from Lodz, the Jelenia Gora Animation Theater, Coincidentia (Bialystok) and aTOmy from Wroclaw. There will also be theaters from Denmark, Poznan, Wolimierz and Sobotka.
Artists will present performances inspired by, among others, the story of Little Red Riding Hood, Alice in Wonderland, stories about vampires and even that of Hamlet.
In addition to theater performance, attractions will include: radio plays, open-air activities, wandering theaters, GOOD DESIGN fair for children, theater workshops, talks and lectures, theater visits to hospitals, hospices and educational centers.
On the last day of the festival, on Sunday (September 27), there will be a day of open-air performances. From 1 pm you will be able to come to the “Playground and Recreation” on 60 Mikołowska Street, to look at street art. Admission to all outdoor performances will be free.
