The next Creative Hands class will already be on May 10 at 1 pm. This time, children will learn about metal-related artistic professions. The cycle of these classes is accompanied by a nationwide competition for children from 5 to 14 years old.
The workshops for children accompany the exhibition of the National Museum in Wroclaw, entitled Creative Hands. Subsequent classes will be held as follows: May 10, 16 and June 14. During the next class on Saturday, children will have to find metal sculptures in museum galleries, which embody different professions. It will not be a difficult task, as the exhibition Creative Hands includes the figure of a blacksmith and a gardener made by Jaroslav Vonka, and in the hallway of the museum, there are Workers and Port porter – works of the eminent Belgian sculptor Constantin Meunier.
May 16 will be especially rich in attractions. On the Night of Museums, the organizers have prepared activities on three themes:
– “Gates, gods and ordinary passers in artistic blacksmithing of Jaroslav Vonka”
– “On the trail of the metal people of Jaroslav Vonka”
– “Simple and modern. Fun with designing the shape and adornment of practical objects. ”
Furthermore, on June 14, as part of the summation of the cycle, Barbara Przerwa will explain what is hidden “In the glow of gold and iron strength”. It is worth remembering that the competition accompanying this cycle lasts only until May 31. Participants are invited to present their own interpretation of the works shown in Creative Hands. Modernist Metal Art in Wroclaw, exhibited at the National Museum in Wroclaw from March 16 to June 15 2015. The work must be done in any flat form, using any technique. It should not be larger than A3 format. Awards will be given out on June 15 during a gala held at the National Museum in Wroclaw, which will be accompanied by an exhibition of the awarded and winning works.
